The positive experience of implementation of energy saving programs at level of separate regions needs to actively spread throughout Ukraine. This was stated by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko today during a visit to the individual thermal point in one of Kyiv's buildings.

"Ukraine has large reserves of energy saving, as it is evidenced by the experience of Cherkassy, Vinnitsa and Slavutych, Kyiv, where the local authorities began to appropriate programs. Energy saving should become a national goal for Ukraine. It will not only provide reducing Ukraine's dependence on expensive Russian gas, but also will allow protecting Ukrainians from the consequences of a rise in price of energy resources," said Vice Prime Minister.

Getting acquainted with the work of thermal point, Sergiy Tigipko stressed that it provides savings up to 30% of the heat consumed by inhabitants of the house. "Accordingly, and utilities decreases," said Vice Prime Minister.

Sergiy Tigipko also stressed the need to encourage people to energy saving and only then to talk about raising tariffs for heat. "In Eastern European countries, states credited the population and local communities for the installation of energy saving equipment and thermal insulation of buildings that as a result there has been considerably reduced consumption of the same gas and families have not felt increase of tariffs," the Vice Prime Minister emphasized.
