Yuriy Boiko discussed with "Rosatom" the issues of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in nuclear field
February 28, 2011, in Moscow, the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boiko met with the Director General of the Russian State Corporation "Rosatom", Sergei Kiriyenko.
During the meeting, the sides discussed several issues associated with the development of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in nuclear sphere.
In particular, the sides discussed the implementation phases of long-term contract for deliveries of Russian nuclear fuel to Ukraine.
The sides also discussed issues related to implementation of the agreements reached for the completion of reactors number 3 and number 4 of Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant.
The meeting also discussed issues related to cooperation in the construction of a plant in Ukraine for production of nuclear fuel.
Let us recall, June 1, 2010 “Energoatom” and JSC “TVEL” signed a long-term contract for the supply of nuclear fuel for Ukrainian nuclear power plants after 2010.
June 9, 2010 the Agreement on cooperation in building of reactors number 3 and number 4 Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Russian Federation was signed. February 9, 2010, in Kiev "Energoatom" and "Atomstroyexport" signed the contract on technical design of reactor VVER-1000 B-392 project and supply of equipment for power reactor number 3 and number 4 Khmelnitsky NPP.
October 27, 2010, an agreement was signed between the State concern "Nuclear fuel" and JSC "TVEL" to build a plant in Ukraine on production of nuclear fuel.
