Modernization and reconstruction of the gas transport system of Ukraine will not lead to change of its form of property. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced during the briefing today. The Head of Government stressed the GTS of Ukraine is the state property, which is fixed on legislative level.

Yulia Tymoshenko informed after signing respective documents on modernization and reconstruction of Ukrainian GTS in Brussels the leaders of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy and Naftogaz NJSC launched negotiations with leaders of Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the Russian Federation and Gazprom with an aim to clarify that upgrade and overhaul of the GTS means an open variant of cooperation. “We are ready to cooperate with every party that could propose the best variant of modernization and reconstruction of the GTS at minimal prices and of best quality. This process is transparent and open and it will give Ukraine a modernized and reconstructed GTS in three-four years,” Yulia Tymoshenko explained.

Moreover, according to her, the consultations on determining a data for holding in Moscow a sitting of Ukrainian-Russian Economic Commission are underway, which will be informed in advance.
