Ukrainian families invested 22 million euros in solar energy

More than 1,600 Ukrainian families installed solar energy equipment, investing a total of 22 million euros, says Sergey Savchuk, the head of State Agency for Energy Efficiency.

Over the past 3 years, nearly 700 million euros have been invested into Ukrainian "clean" energy projects according to Savchuk. Nearly 300 million euros is dedicated to the “green” energy production and almost 400 million euros – to the heat generation from renewable energy sources.

“After the improvement of the "green" tariff in 2015, another direction began to work - the installation of solar panels with power up to 30 kWt. And if at the end of the second quarter of 2015 there were only 94 such families, now this number reaches more than 1600”. According to our calculations, these households have invested 22 million euros in the solar panels" - he said.

Savchuk also noted those legislative initiatives that would encourage stakeholders to invest in renewable energy projects: the opportunity to conclude long-term clean" electricity contract of purchase and sale ", stimulating tariff for "not from gas" heat, as well as a new initiative to facilitate access to networks for “green” electricity producers.

The participation of banks in financing of such projects is extremely important, as it directly affects the economy of the country. 4.5 billion UAH taken by the population for "warm loans" can serve as the best example. This money entered the market of energy-efficient materials and equipment production and use", - emphasized Savchuk.
