Ukraine and Korea trigger nuclear energy cooperation
A state-owned enterprise Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) have signed Memorandum of understanding for cooperation along a nuclear energy project in
The Memo was signed by president of Energoatom NNEGC Yurii Nedashkovskyi from Ukrainian side and president of KEPCO Kim Ssang-su – from Korean side.
During the ceremony of signing of the Memorandum on understanding the Minister of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine Yurii Prodan underlined cooperation with the Korean company in nuclear energy is a priority for Ukraine. Such collaboration will enable to view a possibility to build Korean reactors in Ukraine in the future.
The Minister emphasized a mainstream line of activity of Ukrainian Government is modernization of industrial sector, development of infrastructure and solving issues of energy safety and energy independence.
He informed Ukraine had suggested the Korean party to take part in realization of real projects with introducing advanced technologies. At this, Yurii Prodan emphasized on the projects in energy saving in the area of housing and communal services, reconstruction and modernization of electric power objects and industry as having great importance.
