Mykola Azarov: Ukraine has the most modern developments in an energy efficiency area

Ukraine has most modern developments in the field of energy efficiency. This was declared by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov after visiting the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics NAS of Ukraine and the Energy and Resource Ensure Exhibition.

Prime Minister emphasized that during a review of the Institute’s developments, a program covers 24 regions of Ukraine was presented him. Its implementation will allow the state to save 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. However, its implementation needs to invest 24 billion UAH.

Therefore, Prime Minister called on scientists to improve this document, particularly regarding its maximum reduction in price. "To management of the Institute, we put a question of maximum making cheaper the introduction of such technologies," said Mykola Azarov. He also stressed a batch production of energy-efficient equipment would reduce its cost value.

PM remarked there where possible it is necessary to introduce the most energy-efficient technologies and minimize the consumption of expensive Russian gas. "Energy-saving technologies should be introduced in housing and communal services, public sector, industry, wherever possible to reduce consumption of expensive Russian gas – it is necessary realize these technologies," he said.

Prime Minister underscored the Government maximum emphasis on energy efficiency, energy conservation and recalled that those who introduce energy-saving technologies being released from payment of income tax for 10 years.
