Mykola Azarov: Inland rates cover expenses for production of thermal energy almost everywhere

The Cabinet of Minister warned leaders of several regions on the personally liable for the debts of heating utilities to NJSC Naftogaz Ukraine for consumed gas. The decision was taken today at a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

During the meeting, the Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services Gennadiy Temnyk reported that on the order of the Government the Ministry of Regional Development Construction, Housing and Communal Services conducted an analysis of debts for gas by heating utilities.

"Analysis shows that current rates almost everywhere cover costs for thermal power generation. All must pay for gas, heating on time. Such negligence, which individual utility companies allow, is unacceptable. We must mobilize all efforts and pay off debts. And stop talking about the need to raise tariffs: this is no need," Mykola Azarov said.

The Prime Minister also commissioned to establish the appropriate commission, which to address these issues on the fields.

As a result of meeting the Government ordered to repay existing debts to Naftogaz Ukraine to October 15. Responsible managers must report results to the Government.
