The pre-construction phase of the power line for 750 kilovolt of Rivne Nuclear Power Plant to the "Kiev" substation is completed with paths to Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant and the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, financed by the EBRD. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said this at a Cabinet’s meeting.

The Head of the Government has stressed that this strategic project is the largest since the independence. "We have not yet carried out such project since the independence", he said, noting that experts of the Energy Ministry, "UkrEnergo" performed a huge amount of preparatory work and now you could pass, in fact, to the building.

Mykola Azarov has noted that the total length of transmission lines is 500 km.: "This transmission line will submit to the power grid of the new unit of Rivne NPP additional 1000 MW. Thanks to that, according to the Head of the Government, Kyiv for example, which exhausted the reserves of power, can now confidently lay daring projects in the master plan for development of the capital and the capital region.

Mykola Azarov said that implementation of this project will enable to provide firmly with electricity other large-scale development projects. In addition, significantly increase the reliability, stability of the entire energy system of Ukraine.
