Mykola Azarov: A whole Metro line can be built by the means that Ukraine had paid for Russian gas in February
By funds that Ukraine had paid for the supplied Russian gas in February there can be build a Metro line with 18 stations. This was stated by the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov during the acquaintance with the course of building the metro stations in Kyiv.
"Only for February, due to bonded gas contract of known you ex-Prime Minister, we have paid as much as cost the whole Metro line in 18 stations," said Prime Minister.
He clarified that for the Russian gas supplied in February, Ukraine had paid 1 billion 200 million dollars.
According to the PM, because of shackling gas contract of 2009, Ukraine buys Russian gas at the highest price in Europe. At that he assured that Ukraine continues talks with the RF on the revision of gas contracts.
"We will continue those difficult negotiations, which the Government and the President conduct with Russian partners, and we hope that understanding of the unfairness of this contract and its negative impact on our bilateral relations and detrimental effect on our economy will encourage finally our partners to compromise," Mykola Azarov summed up.
