Germany seeks long-term cooperation with Ukraine in developing alternative sources of energy
Germany welcomes long-term cooperation with Ukraine in energy safety and development of alternative sources of energy, the press-service of First Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov reported.
Turchynov met with Germany’s Federal Minister for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Sigmar Gabriel on Wednesday.
Gabriel said Ukraine has a great potential for energy safety and development of alternative sources of energy, in particular, wind energy and biofuel.
«Germany is interested in long-term cooperation in these areas,» the federal minister said.
Turchynov highlighted implementation of the program for energy safety and attraction of alternative sources of energy as one of the Cabinet of Ministers’ priorities.
President Yuschenko has urged to strengthen government supportal for developing alternative sources of energy.
