First foreign-owned refinery opens in Turkmenistan
Dragon Oil has opened the first foreign-owned refinery in Turkmenistan, RusEnergy reported on March 13. The refinery has a production capacity of 2.5 million tons a year and produces primarily diesel fuel. The report did not say where the refinery is located. Dragon Oil is registered in Ireland, although Dubai-registered Emirates National Oil Corporation owns a 52-percent stake in the company. Turkmenistan.ru reported that Dragon Oil is currently developing 32 oil wells on seven platforms in Turkmenistan.
