EU considers Ukraine stable and transit country
The EU energy commissioner Andris Pibalgs calls Ukraine stable partner as gas supplier to the European Union. He told yesterday at the mutual session of the EP delegations on cooperation with Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
“We signed a memorandum with Ukraine on energy cooperation and Ukraine fulfils it. We cooperate with Ukraine in all spheres and I think Ukraine is a real stable transit country,” he said.
According to Pibalgs, Ukraine has solved gas supplies issue for own needs and also issue on gas price, that’s why one should not expect any problems with supplies of Russian gass through Ukraine.
