Ukraine hopes the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will take part in the modernization of the nation’s gas transport system, the Cabinet says. After a meeting with the EBRD executive director for South-Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Olivier Decamps, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said the reformation of energy sector, in particular, the monetization of the gas transport system, was on the top of the government’s agenda.
Decamps said that the EBRD is Ukraine´s long-time partner and is ready to cooperate in different fields, in particular, development of infrastructure and energy sector. He said that the new stage of co-operation was good for further development of relations between Ukraine and the IMF.
