Buy a Green Car, Get a Bonus
Deutsche Umwelthilfe, a German environmental protection organization, has offered to pay bonuses to consumers for buying cars with high indicators of environmental safety. German environmentalists say such a form of incentives exists in many countries.
For example, in France consumers that purchase vehicles that emit less than 60 grams of carbon dioxide or consume no more than 2 liters of gas per 100 km are paid bonuses of up to EUR 5,000. The organization proposed to finance bonuses from increased dues for those drivers whose vehicles consume larger volumes of fuel.
