Arseniy Yatsenyuk: Crisis energy headquarters set up within Government
The Government of Ukraine has set up Crisis energy headquarters and the task of the founded body is to ensure balance of energy resource, balance of consumption, balance of expenditures, energy efficiency. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced at the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, June 17.
The Crisis energy headquarters is chaired by the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Building, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroysman. Deputy chairman is Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yurii Prodan. “The missions of the headquarters include balancing energy resources, balancing of consumption, balancing of expenses and energy efficiency,” Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed. “We can never abandon addiction from Russian gas, if we waste energy resources the way we have been spending them for over 20 years. We will pay to Russia USD 50 billion again throughout the following five years and can never achieve what we are striving to achieve – true energy performance,” the Head of Government emphasized. Therefrom, the goal of the Government, according to him, is reduction in consumption: “The less people and enterprises consume, the less they pay”. Moreover, Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed that the Government would consider at its session on June 18 a draft law on emergency state in energy sector: “We must be prepared to the most complicated conditions. In this regard the procedure of introducing emergency state on energy market, controlling mechanisms, energy efficiency mechanisms should be included into the law, so that the Government could have leverage on energy sector of the country”. http://www.kmu.gov.ua/control/en/publish/article?art_id=247394404&cat_id=244314975 |
