The International Industrial Conference “Biofuels. Ukraine – 2009” successfully took place in Kyiv on October 21-23, 2009 in the Leonardo Business Centre. The conference was organized by FGL Energy LLC and officially supported by the Parliamentary Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine along with partnership of Institute of Food Biotechnology and Genomics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Ukrbioenergo Association.
In a framework of the Conference Round Table «Biofuels. New Market Opportunities» was held, where were discussed the following questions:
- Does the Ukrainian biofuels market exist?
- Does Ukraine have a chance to enter the EU market?
- How to establish a retail trade infrastructure?
- Pricing and marketing Ukrainian biofuels.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ukrainian Government, European Commission, European Bioethanol Association, members of Ukrainian Parliament, prominent scientists, experts and key players of biodiesel and bioethanol market, agro industrial complex of Ukraine, Europe and the CIS. In total, over 150 representatives of different companies and organizations from 14 countries of the world took part in the Conference.
