The main objectives of the Round Table were to discuss the ways of strengthen the strategic role of Ukraine in ensuring energy security of the Central and Eastern Europe and to promote the advanced European energy saving practices among the municipal utilities companies.
The International Round Table has been initiated by the International Institute of Management and FGL Energy LLC and supported by the Ukrainian League of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists, Council of Competition of Ukraine, and the Eastern German Economy Committee.
The Round Table has a twofold objective: to strengthen the strategic role of Ukraine in ensuring energy security of the Central and Eastern Europe and to promote the advanced European energy saving practices among the municipal utilities companies. The first part consisted of a policy session outlining the strategic importance of energy saving for further sustainable development and the second part consisted of an open discussion between all relevant key actors - policy makers and industrialists.
The target groups of the participants were the follows: policy makers, representatives of the communal sector, representatives of NGO’s dealing with development policies, representatives of the industrial sector, academicians, international and local experts on energy efficiency and energy saving practices and technologies.
